Knitting continued...

well I learnt how to knit last monday and I just went bananas for a few days. I want to learn to read a pattern book so i can make that jumper. I have been practising and am getting much better.

I've been knitting stuff

I have joined a group of knitters on a Monday night that Ashlee put me onto. I am going to learn how to read a pattern book. Initially i wanted to make something for Evie to wear, but I think that would be too hard and she might not appreciate it as much as I would. She is a dog after all! anyway I am thinking I want to make a jumper for myself, I have been practicing stitches and knit and purl and working on getting the right tension. However I do occassionally forget what I'm doing.

I know i haven't posted in a while

I like the fact the only time i blog is when i am stuck at home sick.
Let me tell you things have changed since i last blogged. I have a cute puppy pugalier. Her name is "Evie" due to the fact I got her on christmas eve 09. She is awesome. Here is a picture of her.

i have a doctor's appointment for this afternoon. I have a sore throat and I'm just really tired. But I think I really have to get out of the house. I might take Evie to the park and watch her run like mad.

I still haven't worked out what I'nm doing with my life...

This is in Reims outside the Moet and Chandon champagne 'factory'.

In paris, montparnasse, in an italian restaurant!

About to catch the eurostar to Paris from London.

Ian and I on the cliffs.

I know it's ridiculous! what to update? well I went to ireland and europe and it was fabulous. I really loved venice. Went to what ian calls my spiritual homeland in Reims in France where they make that stuff with the bubbles in it. This pic is from the cliffs in Donegal. Said to be the highest cliffs in all of Europe.

What the hell is going on?????

In the last 2 weeks I have completely lost the plot. I have lost my purse; my work keys; my sanity; and my health. I can't even work out a plan. Just seem to be getting by, going to work and all that shit.
What I need to do is go on a holiday. can't wait for work to be OVA! I would really like to sit down and do a couple of paintings. Organise the tiling. Plan my holiday and just generally not have to do work related rubbish. Here's hanging out for some respite.

New York - I can't escape it

I have watched heaps of movies with reference to New York in the last couple of weeks
Gangs of New York
How to go on a date in Brooklyn
Mama Mia
A Bronx Tale
A home at the end of the world
Brides - (Nifes)
Man on a Wire

I have to add to this list when I remember the rest...

15 minutes

Industrial area - Altona

Industrial areas really interest me - all that metal, smoke and space containing these interesting shapes. There is also a mystery about what exactly happens behind the wire fence. I went down to Altona to do some drawings, but then I felt weird because there was not a really good inconspicuous place to hang and draw. i felt very obvious and nervous.

This is my latest painting

As some of you may know - I have an obsession with painting sticks

Hailed...I don't think so!!!!

I had to write to the age about this typo error.
It should say ...'jailed'...instead of 'hailed'

Man hailed for having sex with wheelchair-bound mother
November 13, 2008 - 6:08PM

A man who had sex with his wheelchair-bound mother after telling her no women seemed to want him could be released from a Darwin prison before the end of the month.

Big Brid from Sesame Street - live shoot

I couldn't believe my eyes when I was walking along 42 nd street and there they were shooting a part of sesame street and big bird was on top of the double decker bus. I took some pics with all the other tourists!

I'm NAKED

only kidding, it's the infamous Naked Cowboy. He really does exist, I saw him in Times Square. For anyone planning to go to the USA, I would highly recommend it, however seeing as the dollar is absolutely shocking at the moment - I'd wait about 8 years. ha ha ha. Fortunately, I made it before things got really really bad.
Well things are going to be different in the USA from now on with Obama being elected in a convincing win. Lots of CHANGE is happening. I met a girl on the flight over who I should email -she was from New york and moved from Melbourne to Columbus to work on the Obama campaign. We were so delirious on the plane, we couldn't work out why it was dark when we crossed the International dateline , because it just was Rachel!! We came up with the Pizza theory of timetravel.

there are so many dogs in New York - everyone has one. PPL keep them in their tiny apartments and then they walk them on the street or in Central Park. This is what I stumbled into one day - a doggy creche for ppls dogs - with little couches. Some ppl had more than one dog and you saw heaps of people being doggy walkers- ppl that get paid to walk dogs.

my time in new york

This is the monument to John Lennon. it is in a traquil area where John and Yoko used to frequent.

The Flatiron building, i walked about two blocks before I realised I passed it. It looked so inconspicuous amongst all the other buildings. I kept doing that a lot - walking past buildings.

I really loved the Empire State building, I really got a sense of the scale of new york. In this picture you can see the famous Macy's department store. I went there and got Ian really nice ties. He really wanted a cachmere green scarf, but they hadn't come in yet. Sorry luv.

Another view from the top of the Empire State. This is looking south to the financial district/ wall st and you can see the edge of New Jersey, in between Jersy and new york you can see the Statue of liberty, but it's tiny.

Langkawi

Here is me really happy in Champagne

View from Westin hotel in Kuala Lumpur

Aparently, up unitl last year there used to be a really great uniterrupted view of the famous Petronas Twin Towers from the hotel. Unfortunately since this building (across from the Westin) has been thrown up, the towers have to be imagined instead. So whilst you know the towers are just behind this building, you just have to imagine that they are there and picture them all lit up at night

Here is a photo of them from: http://www.cuti.com.my/Sub/Kl/kuala_lumpur_petronas_twin_towers_4.jpg

Monkeys!!!

Two BIG holes in the wall

The body corporate has replaced all the windows in my flat. It's taken forever!

My newest painting of Jaz.

Dyeing your hair

I quite like how I look like I have blood coming out of my head. I wrapped my head in foil so that it would make it hotter. Me dyeing my hair... I have had blue hair, peroxided hair, black and red hair. I did that about 10 years ago for fun. I got bored of having brown hair so I thought I would go fiery red!!!

How to Clean your room!

Take everything out of the cupboard and spread it all over your room. Then decide what you want to keep and then put back NEATLY!
